The institution evaluates the effectiveness of its administrators on a periodic basis.

Narrative of Justification

As Chief Executive Officer, the President is evaluated annually by the Board of Trustees (Board Development Committee Minutes). The President’s Office evaluates the performance of the Vice Presidents (area heads) on an annual basis.  (See Comprehensive Standard 3.2.1.)   

All managerial level administrators are evaluated using the standard evaluation forms provided by the Human Resources Office, Supervisory Staff Performance, and Self Evaluation.  (Supervisory Staff Performance Evaluation Form and Supervisory Staff Self-Performance Evaluation Form) However, official level administrators (senior staff) are evaluated by the President’s Office using the Senior Staff Performance Appraisal and Development Plan.

Performance evaluations are conducted on an annual basis, generally in the Spring of each year.

  • March - Performance Evaluation Workshops are conducted
  • April - Memo is sent via email to each manager advising the manager of the deadline for submitting to HR.  Attachments include:
    • Performance Evaluation Form (Employee Self-Evaluation)
    • Performance Evaluation Form (Manager’s Evaluation)
    • Job Description if requested

Evaluations are reviewed by the Director of Human Resources. Evaluations that have an overall all rating of two (unsatisfactory) or below rating are discussed with the manager to insure that guidelines are put in place to address those areas of concern.
