Narrative of Justification

The unit responsible for the College’s fundraising activities is the Office of Institutional Advancement, headed by the Vice President for Institutional Advancement. The Vice President for Institutional Advancement reports to the President placing ultimate control of the institution’s fundraising to the President, as found in the Job Description of the President.

To insure the College’s integrity, the Board of Trustees (BOT) approves all fundraising efforts undertaken on behalf of Bennett College. The BOT coordinates college fundraising, including capital fundraising campaigns, annual fundraising campaigns and agreements with affiliated entities. Moreover, the BOT develops fundraising policy, approves all development activities and recommends guidelines for and approves the naming of all College owned facilities. These responsibilities may be delegated to the BOT’s Development Committee (Board of Trustees By-Laws 2005: Development Committee, Article X, (Section 7)).
