3.4.10 Responsibility for curriculumThe institution places primary responsibility for the content, quality, and effectiveness of the curriculum with its faculty. Judgment of Compliance Compliance Narrative of Justification Bennett College places primary responsibility for the content, quality, and effectiveness of the curriculum with its faculty. All course and curricula changes are initiated and approved at the departmental level by the faculty. The department submits the recommendation to their respective Division for review and approval by the faculty. Thereafter, the Faculty Senate considers the recommendation in the Curriculum Committee and submits it to the full faculty for final approval. Changes in the General Education curriculum must originate in the General Education Advisory and Assessment Council and are then sent to the Curriculum Committee of the Faculty Senate, and the full faculty for consideration. Examples of the process can be found in the minutes of departments, colleges, committees, the Faculty Senate, and the faculty (i.e. Division Meeting Minutes, Feb. 13, 2006 and Sept. 14, 2004).
