Judgment of Compliance Compliance Narrative of Justification Bennett College publishes its academic policies in a variety of academic publications. These publications are disseminated to students, faculty, and other interested parties through hard copy and access to the College website. The review processes systematically ensure that these publications are accurate and consistent. The publications include: College Catalog 2007-2008, Faculty Handbook and Academic Affairs Handbook, Section III. The Faculty Handbook is the principal source of major academic policies affecting the faculty on topics such as faculty governance and standing committees; instructional responsibilities, academic advising and registration; the review and evaluation of faculty performance for tenure, promotion in rank, post-tenure review, and merit salary considerations; the organization of the college; and personnel matters, workplace regulations, and other related topics. The faculty, through shared governance practices establishes, reviews, and recommends academic policies and standards of the College. Structured by the Facutly Senate Curriculum Committee, the faculty participates in the departmental review process; oversees curriculum development and revision in programs and departments; approves majors, minors, and core/general education requirements; and makes recommendations for changes it deems necessary to update and create coherence in the curriculum. (Academic Affairs Handbook, pp.2-3) The Board of Trustees approves all academic polices. Supporting Documents
