3.5.4 Terminal degrees of facultyAt least 25 percent of the discipline course hours in each major at the baccalaureate level are taught by faculty members holding the terminal degree—usually the earned doctorate— in the discipline, or the equivalent of the terminal degree. Judgment of Compliance Compliance Narrative of Justification The Office of Institutional Effectiveness and Research identified baccalaureate courses for each major program as outlined in Commission’s Faculty Rosters AY 2007-2008 and determined the percentage of the courses which were taught by faculty with terminal degrees during the 2007-2008 academic term. The percentages ranged from a low of 25% in the B.S. in Business Administration to a high of 92% in B.S. in Social Work and 63% for the College overall. The percentages of courses taught by faculty with terminal degrees in all baccalaureate majors, in each division, and at the College overall were substantially above the 25% minimum in the standard:
