Development Process:  Progress to Date

2003-2006

• Ongoing assessment by IE staff (internal and external measures)
• Presentation by Alabama A&M representative on their QEP
• Academic Leadership retreat and initial brainstorming for QEP topic ideas
• Retreat results shared at Faculty Institute
• QEP Leadership team selected

Spring 2007

• QEP team members are trained
• Constituent groups trained
• Assessment data shared with groups
• Topic ideas solicited from constituent groups
• Focus groups narrowed topics to short list
• Ballot distributed and votes tallied
• Topic is chosen

Fall 2007

• Presentation at Faculty Institute by QEP Leadership team
• Initial brainstorming of plan ideas - faculty workgroups
• Provost Mobley attends an on-site visit at Coastal Carolina Comm. Coll. in September as an observer
• Sub-committees formed, draft work plans developed
• Strategic plan developed
• Intranet developed & training conducted
• Draft budget developed
• Met with SACS Staff Consultant on 11/20
• Topic narrowed to focus on Writing
• QEP Co-chairs & Reaffirmation team members attend SACS-COC Annual Meeting in New Orleans
