Accessing and Navigating the SACS Compliance Web Site

Accessing

The SACS Compliance Web Site electronic submission of accreditation materials can be viewed using either of the two methods below:

(1) CD version – insert the Bennett College for Women: SACS Compliance Web Site provided CD into the CD/ROM bay drive of any personal computer. The CD is set to run automatically and the entry page of theSACS Compliance Web Site home page will be displayed. All links within the CD/ROM are self contained. The only exceptions are links to live HTML pages or PDF files on live web sites. These links will only be accessible if the personal computer in use has an active Internet connection.

(2) Live SACS website - acquire Internet connection, open a browser window and type www.bennett.edu/sacs/index.html into the URL line then press [Enter].

The Bennett College for Women: SACS Compliance Web Site home page will be displayed.

Navigating

This SACS Compliance Web Site is best viewed using Internet Explorer version 6.0 or above as the browser and Adobe reader for the PDF files. Use the browser BACK button to return from static HTML or PDF references embedded in the narratives of each of the compliance statements back to the compliance statement. Some of the PDF files were created from scanned documents. If any pop up message boxes appear click the OK button and the file will continue loading.

Free Adobe Reader

The Adobe PDF files are best viewed using the Adobe Reader. The Adobe Readercan be downloaded from the Adobe site at www.acrobat.com. If you do not have Adobe Reader, click on the Adobe reader graphic posted on the below to prompt a download.

Starting at the home page:  Complete access to every section of this SACS Compliance Web Site is available from the home page.  The individual compliance reports are accessed by clicking on the Compliance Report link; a complete listing of all support documentation used in the Compliance Report is accessed by clicking on the Document Directory link and the Quality Enhancement Plan (QEP) is accessed by clicking on the Quality Enhancement Plan link.

Compliance Report Links:  The Compliance Report is composed of a narrative which addresses each /requirement/standard with links to support documentation in PDF format. Each report is listed in order on the Compliance Report Index page and is accessible by clicking on the title of the numbered narrative. Upon review of the narrative, you can move back to a previous report, or forward to the next report by clicking the next response on the left navigation bar. The Complaince Report is accessed by clicking on the Compliance Report link. 

The title of each report is clearly marked at the beginning of the narrative (below the masthead) and on the top of the web page so you will always know which page you are viewing.

Each support document referenced in the report narrative is linked directly to the appropriate document.  When you click on the link in the narrative, or in the support document table, the document will open in a new browser window. To return to the narrative, simply close the document to return to the Compliance Report.

Supporting Documentation:  Each document referenced in the Compliance Report is indexed alphabetically on the Document Directory page. These documents are available by clicking the document title in the document directory index or, by clicking on the document title found within each narrative of the Compliance Report. As mentioned, all of these links are designed to open in a new browser window. Once you have finished reviewing the documentation, you can close the document to return to the narrative.

In most cases, if not all, each support document is available in a PDF file.  Copies of the entire Bennett College Catalog & Student Handbook, the College Fact Book and the Strategic Plan Document are also available as PDF files and listed alphabetically on the Document Directory page. 

Quality Enhancement Plan: The Quality Enhancement Plan (QEP) is accessible by clicking on Quality Enhancement Plan on the "SACS Compliance Web Site" home page. The QEP is a PDF document which requires Adobe Reader. Adobe Acrobat Reader is required to view these documents. A free copy of Acrobat Reader is available above.
