Bennett College is a small, private, historically Black liberal arts college for women. The College offers women an education conducive to excellence in scholarly pursuits; preparation for leadership roles in the workplace, society, and the world; and lifelong learning in a technologically advanced, complex global society. As a United Methodist Church-related institution, Bennett College promotes morally grounded maturation, intellectual honesty, purposeful public service, and responsible civic action.
Bennett College administration is committed to serving the needs of the students of Bennett College through four units which include the Office of the President, Division of Academic Affairs, Division of Administration and Finance and Division of Institutional Advancement.
The Office of the President which includes the Chief of Staff is located in the Global Learning Center and provides leadership to the four campus divisions. The center also houses the Division of Institutional Advancement
The Office of Academic Affairs manages two of the academic divisions and other offices providing academic services to students. Bennett College’s undergirding philosophy is that a high quality college experience should provide its women students with strong academic and co-curricular programs that encourage their personal development, endorse lifelong learning, and prepare them to meet the needs of an ever-changing society. The Bennett College undergraduate majors and minors are organized within two divisions —The Division of Humanities, Business and Professional Studies and The Division of Sciences and Mathematics. Other units under the Office of Academic Affairs are: Enrollment Management, Student Affairs, Honors Program, and Center for Entrepreneurial Studies, Center for Global Studies, Office of Academic Success and Student Support Services, the Library, Intergenerational Center, Early Middle College and Steele Hall Gallery.
The mission of the Division of Administration and Finance is to provide administrative and fiscal support services to all constituencies of the college. The division is responsible for maintaining the fiscal stability, integrity and technological advancement of the College, and providing efficient administrative support services through sound fiscal and administrative policies, procedures, and best practices. The functions of recording financial transactions, safeguarding physical and financial assets, allocation of resources, procurement, and delivery of college services, and safety and security of the campus community are managed through the Departments of: Controller, Human Resources, Information Technology Services, Facilities Management, Campus Safety, Dining Services and Auxiliary/Business Services.
The mission of the Division of Division of Institutional Advancement is to ethically and with integrity acquire and steward financial and other resources to support the mission, vision, goals and objectives of Bennett College. Our efforts support the work of providing support for an education for the future and a place where sisters are educated, celebrated, and developed into global citizens and twenty-first century contributors. The Office includes the Office of Alumnae Relations and the Office of Communications.
