The mission of the Office of Career Services (OCS) is to assist students with internship identification and placement, graduate and professional school admissions preparation, career preparation and job search assistance. The OCS works to provide resources, services, and support. These processes facilitated through career exploration activities, self-assessment exercises, career and graduate school events, experiential learning opportunities, job search strategies, networking and mentoring.
Create environments that will foster/promote engagement, retention, graduation and transition to a career or graduate/professional school.
Create and enhance relationships which promote increase communication with student, faculty, and staff.
Measurement of percentage of students in attendance at Career and Graduate & Professional schools recruitment fairs, one day events, on-campus interviewing, internship, employment, workshops, and continued higher education.
The Office of Career Services evaluation team (Darryl K. Johnson), will coordinate this effort with Alumnae Office, Institutional Effectiveness, Institutional Advancement, Provost Office, Student Affairs and Academic Affairs. The outcome of each evaluation is to:
- Focus: Describe program-logic model; Define purpose;
- Collect data;
- Analyze & interpret: Process data; Analyze; Interpret data: What did we learn; What are the measurements;
- Use: Share findings and lessons learned; Use in decision making to determine next step
