All first year students are advised based on the General Education Curriculum, which consists of courses that build the foundation that allows students to successfully complete their major/core courses. The General Education Curriculum consists of first year, English, Math, Foreign Language, Art/Music/Theater, History, Natural Science, Physical Education, and Social Science requirements. It is mandatory that all students take an appropriate Math course, Literature and Writing course, and also take Orientation 100A and 100B during their first two semesters at the College. These courses are the focal points for all schedules for new students. Academic Advisors also assist students in selecting 2-3 additional courses from the General Education Curriculum to fulfill the requirements.
