How to Change Your Major or Minor?
Students wanting to change, declare, add or delete a major or minor must report to the Office of the Registrar. The form needed to complete these actions can only be found in the Registrar’s Office. Students must fill out the form in its entirety and acquire the required signatures from their advisor. If a student wants to declare a major, she must receive a signature from that particular department in order for the form to be processed. If a student wants to change her major from one discipline to another, she must collect a signature from the old department and a signature from the new department. If a student wants to delete or add a minor, she must collect a signature from that department.
How to Drop/Add a Course After the Registration Period?
During the registration period, students may add or drop courses many times. Students and advisors are adjusting schedules to ensure that students have their desired schedule taking into consideration the courses that are mandatory. Although most students finalize their schedule within the registration period, some do not and this requires special permission from various offices (Registrar, Business Office, Division Dean and/or Provost).
How to Withdraw From a Course Once the Add/Drop Period has Ended?
Bennett College will allow a withdrawal without Penalty (WP) from a current semester course or courses within the stated time allotment as published in the College’s academic calendar (usually following the week of mid-term exams). Withdrawal of courses without penalty will be included in attempted hours, but excluded from all other grade point average calculations. Students who wish to Withdraw without Penalty from a course will find this form in the Office of the Registrar. However, you still need to speak with the Coordinator of Academic Advising to talk about the effects of filing for a WP.
