Bennett College Students Selected for the White House Initiative’s Ninth Cohort of HBCU Scholars

Three Bennett College students have been selected for The White House Initiative on Advancing Educational Equity, Excellence, and Economic Opportunity through Historically Black Colleges and Universities’ ninth cohort of HBCU Scholars. Zairen Jackson ‘26, Trinity Cromwell ‘24, and Zakyha Jones-Walker ‘24 received this prestigious recognition for their accomplishments in academics, leadership, civic engagement and much more.  The Bennett Belles will serve as ambassadors of the White House Initiative on HBCUs and the U.S. Department of Education, and are encouraged to uplift their communities and peers, and work to strengthen the nation’s democracy and economy.  Students will have access to professional …

Bennett College Staff Member Betty Watson Recognized by Greensboro Police Department for her Efforts to Keep the City Safe

Congratulations to Betty Watson, Default Management Coordinator at Bennett College and President of Old L Richardson (OLR) Neighborhood Association, whose leadership has been recognized by the Greensboro Police Department for her efforts around National Night Out, an initiative to keep the city safe. OLR Neighborhood Association was founded by Ms. Delsene Hauser in 2002 with a purpose to work with the Greensboro Police to uphold harmony in the local community.
