Have you ever thought about writing your life’s story, or the story of your family’s journey? If so, we have the perfect opportunity to hear from someone who did just that. Join Bennett College as we host alumna Barbara Johnson ’77, author of “A Head of Cabbage: A Memoir”, to discuss “How to Write and Publish YOUR Story” on Thursday, November 10, 2022, from 6:00 pm – 7:30 pm in the Global Learning Center Multipurpose Room – Section C. This discussion is FREE and open to the public, but RSVP is requested. Masks are required for indoor activities on the campus.
If you heard Barbara Johnson speak at the 2022 Founders’ Day Convocation, you know her story is powerful – threatened to be killed by her father for pursuing a college education, betrayal by her former husband, poverty and revenge, all the makings of a great read – and it’s all true. Her story is gripping, but so is yours!
You’ll learn:
- Ms. Johnson’s process for getting her thoughts out of her head and heart and onto paper (or into the computer).
- How to identify the significant moments in one’s life to include in YOUR story and
- How to muster the strength to be transparent.
A book signing will follow. Light refreshments will be available. RSVP requested.
