Candice Young joined Team Bennett in the fall semester of 2020 as an Assistant Professor of Biology in the STEM Department. With 11 years in education, she has primarily taught on the post-secondary level, but has also taught middle and high school science. Her course load includes teaching Zoology, Cell Biology, Immunology, Ecology, Genetics, and Microbiology, as well as the associated labs. Professor Young also acts as the principal investigator (former PI, Rasheena Edmondson, PhD) on the grant, Equipment and Instrumentation to Enhance the Undergraduate Research Experience of STEM Majors at Bennett College in Microbiological Research and Data Analytics. Young is a native of North Carolina, where she currently resides with her husband and two children. She enjoys, music, singing, traveling, spending time with her family, and taking care of her pets.
