Interlibrary Loan (ILL)

The library’s Interlibrary Loan (ILL) service finds and retrieve materials from other libraries for all Bennett College students, faculty and staff. Most inter-library loan materials are free. See the ILL webpage for details or complete the ILL Request Form if you are ready to place a request.

Triad Academic Library Association (TALA) Cooperative Borrowing

All Bennett College students, faculty, and staff may directly borrow materials from the following regional college and university libraries. Borrowing directly requires that you pick up materials yourself, and that you present your current Bennett College ID at the time of checkout.

Each library may have its own procedures for verifying eligibility, as well as restrictions on borrowing. You will need to register at each library, and you may need to update your registration each semester. You will be subject to the policies of the lending institutions, and responsible for returning items yourself to each library. Individuals who borrow materials via the TALA cooperative borrowing agreement are subject to the borrowing policies of the lending institution(s) and are solely responsible for any fines accrued due to loss, damage, or late return of materials.

To borrow materials, take your Bennett College ID to the main library of the campus. Inform the circulation desk staff that you are a Bennett College student, faculty, or staff member, and that you want to borrow materials. You may be asked to validate your current Bennett College status and that your library account is in good standing by logging into the My Account feature of the Bennett College Library Catalog using ID # and password. If you are unable to do this, staff may call the Holgate Library to verify your standing. Once you are verified, you will complete registration and be able to check out materials.

Greensboro Public Library

All Bennett College students may receive a library card and check out materials from the Greensboro Public Library. Please visit the Central Library or any library branch to obtain a library card. Bennett College students, faculty, and staff who borrow materials from the Greensboro Public Library are subject to its borrowing policies and are solely responsible for any fines accrued due to loss, damage, or late return of materials.
