Age Requirements for the Martin Dixon Intergenerational Center

7:30 am until 5:30 pm
Accreditation
The Martin Dixon Intergenerational Center has a ‘Five-Star’ Rating from the Department of Health and Human Services Child Development Unit. The Department of the National Council for Accreditation of Teacher Education Accredited and Department of Public Instruction Accredited.
Health Care
Staff members have access to the College’s Health services and are trained on First Aid and have been community CPR certified.
Insurance
The Martin Dixon Intergenerational Center does not have accident insurance for children enrolled in our program. It is the direct responsibility of parents to provide health coverage for their child.
Parent Involvement
All parents are encouraged to participate in the Parent Teachers’ Association. Parent workshops will be provided at the Intergenerational Center. Parents are invited to assist with field trips and classroom activities.
Transportation Standards
The North Carolina Law requires that all children less than 80 pounds must be restrained in an approved car seat; large children may use a booster seat. The Martin Dixon Intergenerational Center will not transport any children without this required equipment.
