The Class of 1961 came to Centennial Alumnae Weekend on a mission—to remain the highest alumnae donor class in Bennett College history. And true to their legacy, they answered the call.
This remarkable class is comprised of women who helped spark and shape the Civil Rights Movement, women whose courage, conviction, and commitment to justice changed the course of history. They challenged the status quo, stood on the front lines of progress, and embodied the very spirit of Bennett College.
Today, we are blessed not only to stand on their shoulders, but also to witness their continued dedication to the College they love. Decades after leaving Bennett’s campus, they remain steadfast advocates, generous supporters, and powerful examples of what it means to live a life of purpose and service.
They are more than alumnae. They are trailblazers. They are history-makers. They are Pioneer Belles.
During this Centennial Celebration, we honor them. We celebrate them. We thank them. Their legacy lives on in every Bennett Belle who follows in their footsteps, and for that, we are forever grateful.
