Belles welcome the holiday spirit to Bennett by decorating a Christmas tree in the GLC
In what has become a tradition at Bennett College, six students took time on November 28 in between classes to decorate the lobby of the Global Learning Center. Belles Imani Atkins, Dymond Estep, Sierra Long, Natajia Smith, Kayla Stevenson and Chelsea Tubbs, all members of the Bennett College Pre-Alumnae Council, spent about an hour stringing lights and putting ornaments on a Christmas tree, placing gift boxes under it and adorning the area with beautiful Poinsettias. Not surprisingly, the tree decorations include some white bells and blue bulbs.
Pre-Alumnae Council President Sierra Long said the students enjoyed strategizing on the perfect place to put each ornament, as they will do on December 2 when they decorate The President’s House.
Bennett College President Dr. Phyllis Worthy Dawkins said she appreciates the students’ efforts and hopes the GLC decorations will help to put Bennett faculty, staff, students and alumnae in the holiday spirit.
