“Climates of Inequality” Opens at Bennett College’s Steele Hall Art Gallery
FREE AND OPEN TO THE PUBLIC
March 30, 2023, 4:00 pm – 8:30 pm
We are pleased to announce that Bennett College will host “Climates of Inequality,” a traveling interactive educational exhibit that highlights climate justice efforts from around the world. Of special interest to our local community is a story based in Greensboro and Princeville, NC: “Environmental Justice Along the Underground Railroad.” This story was created through a collaboration between UNCG, the town of Princeville, NC, and FaithAction International, and it represents some of the environmental issues faced by migrants to and within the region.
The exhibit is located in the Steele Hall Art Gallery, and will be open to the public from Tuesday, 3/21, until Thursday, 4/27, on the following schedule: Tuesdays from 4:00 pm -8:00 pm, Wednesdays from 10:00 am -4:00 pm, and Thursdays from 10:00 am -4:00 pm. Special tours are available for educators who would like to bring their classes. All exhibit materials are offered in both English and Spanish.
Bennett College will also host an event the evening of Thursday, 3/30, featuring keynote speaker La’Meshia Whittington, President, WSC Group and Executive Director of the Green Majority.
