Art and culture are vital to human existence; they nourish us, remind us of our history and guide us toward our future, opening doors to possibility and innovation. Today, Bennett College is pleased to announce the ABOUT LOVE Scholarship recipients for 2022-2023. Funded by Tiffany & Co., BeyGood, and the Shawn Carter Foundation, the ABOUT LOVE Scholarship supports incoming and current students interested in pursuing degrees in creative fields, including visual arts, media, performance, design, history, and communications.
Our FIVE new 2022-2023 About Love Scholars are Sophomore: Makaela Reed; Junior: Jessica Parks and Seniors: Destini Boone, Ikirah Britt-Pena, and Mona Pinder.
Our FOUR continuing About Love Scholars for 2022-2023 are Kyresha Bowman '23; Gabrielle Crockett '23; Jaiyah-Shalon Aaliyah Gordon '24; and Francy Rawls '24.
Previous scholars are: Ndahye Aziz '22; Carmesha Blackmon '22; Zamora Bonner '22; Katiya Laster '22; Nzinga Muhammad '22; Mikayla Smith '22; and Michaelo Zeno '22
Bennett College President Suzanne Elise Walsh commends Tiffany & Co., BeyGood, and the Shawn Carter Foundation for investing in the academic pursuits of creative talent. In reference to the group of About Love Scholars, she adds, “Our About Love Scholars are creative space curators, vocalists, violinists, writers, photographers, designers, dancers, multimedia artists, podcasters and so much more. These young women are multitalented, multifaceted individuals.”
