Bennett College invites the community to a powerful evening of remembrance and reflection as part of its Centennial Celebration<\/strong>, marking 100 years of empowering women to learn and lead<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On Friday, February 27, 2026<\/strong>, Bennett College<\/a> will host a special dinner theatre experience<\/strong> honoring its pivotal role in the historic Greensboro Sit-Ins<\/strong>. Beginning at 6:00 p.m.<\/strong>, the evening will feature a staged reading of Rebellious<\/em>, a compelling play by Mike Wiley, inspired by Dr. Linda Brown’s book Belles of Liberty<\/a><\/em>. The production brings to life the courage, conviction, and collective action of the Bennett women who helped spark a national movement for civil rights.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The event will take place in the Multipurpose Room of the Global Learning Center<\/strong>, offering an intimate setting to honor the bravery of those who participated in the sit-in movement. Following the staged reading, attendees will have the rare opportunity to participate in a post-performance conversation with actual sit-in participants<\/strong>, who will share firsthand reflections on this defining moment in history.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Tickets are $10 per person<\/strong> and include dinner served alongside the performance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
