GREENSBORO, N.C. — Bennett College student Ambriell Brooks ’27 has been selected for an international internship opportunity in Tokyo, Japan through the Council on International Educational Exchange (CIEE) Summer Internship + Study Abroad program, further advancing the College’s commitment to preparing globally engaged women leaders.
Brooks, a Journalism and Media Studies major with a minor in Digital Storytelling & Media, will serve as a Social Work & Media Outreach Intern with Japan Kingdom Builders. In the role, she will assist with community outreach initiatives, media storytelling, content creation, and service projects within local communities in Japan.
The opportunity combines Brooks’ interests in communications, service, and global engagement while providing hands-on international experience in media and community-based work.
“Bennett has encouraged me to think beyond borders and use my gifts in ways that can positively impact communities,” Brooks said. “I look forward to representing Bennett College abroad and learning from this experience in Japan.”
Brooks has built a strong record of leadership and achievement during her time at Bennett. She was named Miss Freshman for the 2023 academic year, earned national recognition as the winner of a Graphic Design Competition in 2023, and is a recipient of the Witherwrite Scholarship. She also participated in the 2024–2025 Disney College Program cohort.
College leaders said opportunities like Brooks’ internship reflect Bennett’s emphasis on global learning experiences, experiential education, and preparing students to lead across industries and cultures.
