Breathing With The Belles
October 15, 2022
9:30 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.
Bennett College Gymnasium
Doors close at 9:45 a.m.
On Saturday, October 15 at 9:30 am in the Bennett College gymnasium, join alumna Myeisha Essex ’11 for A #WellBelle Meditation, “Breathing With The Belles.” Be prepared to experience a healing sound bath and breathwork session like you’ve never experienced before, led by Zentola and The Sound Bowlettes.
Myeisha says, “I believe having safe spaces for us to rest, recharge and center is so important. Rest isn’t a luxury. You don’t have to earn the right to lay down. It’s deeper than just meditation; it’s giving ourselves permission to prioritize our health and well-being so things like burnout, stress, anxiety and depression are no longer the ‘norm.’ Meditation and sound baths are just two of the many ways we can incorporate more rest into our lives.”
Zentola is an energy master and meditation guide. Originally from Baltimore, his work centers around the practice of using mindful exercises and techniques to manifest positive energy. He’s also the innovator and author of the ZenergyMe Journal, a guided book of compiled teachings on the art of using Mindful Exercises to Manifest Energy. Find more info on his wellness training sessions at @thezentola.
The Sound Bowlettes include Jennifer Franklin of Bloom Holistic Healing. Jennifer is a teacher, speaker, sound healer, and breathwork facilitator based in Los Angeles. Her mission is to help families and communities heal from the inside out. Find more info on her wellness training sessions at @bloom_holistichealing.
Myeisha Essex is a digital strategist, wellness educator and founder of Essex Media Group. Before launching her agency, Myeisha worked as Head of Social for Calm, the sleep and meditation app, senior editor at Entertainment Tonight and managing editor of The Shade Room. Her work as an editor and writer can be found in Essence Magazine, BlackLove.com and Belle Magazine, which she co-founded her sophomore year at Bennett College. Myeisha currently serves as the social media strategist on The Jennifer Hudson Show and an advocate for creating safe Black wellness spaces.
Tamara Jeffries, Senior Editor of Yoga Journal and former Bennett College associate professor, will close-out the day with our mindful movement session.
Come relax, relate and release with us, because Bennett Belles are #WellBelles. Let’s heal, elevate & reclaim our peace together!
**Please be sure to bring your yoga mat or blanket and pillow.
We will start promptly. To avoid distractions to the meditation, we cannot allow new people to enter the space once we close the doors at 9:45 a.m.
