A statement from President Dawkins: Founder’s Day Convocation postponed

A Message from the President
Because the safety of our students, staff, faculty, alumnae and guests is always our first concern at Bennett College, and because National Weather Service predictions about the path of Hurricane Irma change by the hour, a decision has been made to postpone our Founder’s Day Convocation, originally scheduled for this weekend.
Instead, we hope you will join us on Sunday, November 5, 2017, at 2:00 p.m. inside the Annie Merner Pfeiffer Chapel when we celebrate Bennett College’s founding with Dr. Johnnetta Betsch Cole, President Emerita, as our guest speaker. Also on November 5, we will have a ribbon-cutting ceremony for the naming of our Honors Residence Hall in honor of Dr. Cole, a silent auction and a reception.
We pray for the safety of you and your loved ones in the event that Hurricane Irma does impact the area in which you live, and we hope you will join us for a very special Founder’s Day Convocation on November 5.
Sincerely,
Phyllis Worthy Dawkins, Ph.D.
President
