GREENSBORO, N.C. — Bennett College is pleased to share that alumna Dr. Keisha Reed Brown ’98 has been prominently featured in the Essence article, “Beyond Howard and Hampton: Discover 15 Other HBCUs You Should Know and Meet Their Accomplished Alumni.” The piece highlights distinguished graduates from historically Black colleges and universities that often receive less national visibility, placing Dr. Brown among a select group of leaders whose influence reaches far beyond their campuses.
A native of Washington, D.C., Dr. Brown graduated from Bennett College with a bachelor’s degree in biology before earning her Doctor of Dental Surgery from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 2002. She is the owner of Something to Smile About Dental in Raleigh, North Carolina, where she leads a thriving practice known for its community-centered approach to oral health.
In her interview with Essence, Dr. Brown reflected on Bennett College’s lasting influence on her life and career, noting that the College “taught me self-confidence and gave me the framework to be a leader in the community.”
