Kierra Black, a Rising Junior at Bennett College, has been accepted into the prestigious Black to San Francisco (B2SF) Summer Internship, where she will serve within the San Francisco Human Rights Commission.
What Is the Black to San Francisco Program?
B2SF is a unique summer educational program managed by the San Francisco Human Rights Commission (HRC) as part of a broader strategy to revitalize the city’s core. The program’s main objective is to enhance professional development and career opportunities for HBCU students while also exposing local youth to HBCU programming.
The B2SF initiative offers a transformative six-week program, where interns living, learning, and working in the city contribute to San Francisco’s economic revitalization and help cultivate future leaders in tech, government, education, and beyond. Each session includes paid internships, seminars with guest lecturers, and the opportunity to create and engage in rich cultural experiences in San Francisco.
Students work on projects focused on community engagement and research to improve service delivery and provide recommendations for best practices that advance community health and well-being. It’s the kind of real-world, policy-driven experience that can’t be replicated in a classroom.
