Focused on Moroccan women’s rights, health and culture
Bennett College is proud to announce that it has been awarded its second Fulbright-Hays Program grant. The $125,840 grant will fund a research initiative focused on Moroccan women’s rights, health and culture. The project is set to take place in June 2025, in partnership with Salem College.
The grant will support a 30-day immersive cultural experience for faculty and staff, fostering a deepened understanding of non-Western society.
“This funding not only strengthens our dedication to global education but also empowers our educators to integrate international issues of women’s rights, health equity, and culture into our classrooms. Our teams’ research and conversations with Moroccan women will help us to communicate the urgency of the U.N Sustainable Development Goals with our students,” according to Anne C. Hayes, Ph.D., Executive Director of Global & Interdisciplinary Programs and Bennett College’s Program Director for this grant.
A total of 14 faculty and staff from both Bennett College and Salem College will participate.
The Fulbright-Hays Program, a segment of the larger Fulbright Program funded by a Congressional appropriation to the United States Department of Education, awards grants to educators, administrators, pre-doctoral students, postdoctoral faculty and U.S. institutions and organizations.
